I asked the Morrigan about spiritual parasites - are they real? Should we be concerned about them? If so, just how concerned should we be? This was Her reply.
They are real, yes, and they are mostly small creatures who on their own would be mostly harmless. It is not they themselves wandering around with a thirst for blood, but rather their fathers and fathers' fathers of anciency seeking to fill a void that sex, drugs, and rock n' roll could barely touch. They are driven by needs that are not their own.
These things primarily focus on getting their victims into a state of uncertainty of who they are. They cause you to question everything, from your name to your job to your gods. Sometimes this can just be a human thing, sure. But it's also a very "human thing" to have on of these things on you without knowing it.
