Sovereignty always wins. No matter what witchcraft, what blasphemy, what chains are placed upon you.
Sovereignty of self will always defeat another's cruel intentions. Perhaps you will die, but you will die with a fight, and let them feel the scorn of indignation. Maybe they will win this battle, but not without losing something of themselves. There is no victory - righteous or otherwise - without sacrifice. Perhaps they'll never see it that way. They're idiots.
The sovereignty of land will always defeat humanity. Your whimsies can only be entertained for so long before she's had enough. She calls on her children, air and fire, and her sister the sea, when it is to be finished.
The sovereignty of seas is akin to what you call "fate." Water controls life. It hydrates and drowns you. You drink and drink until the earth in your body turns to mud, and suddenly there is nothing to hold you together anymore. You collapse into the land, who gathers you up and spreads you around wherever she'd like to see you go next.
So exercise your sovereignty however you can. Meet cruelty with kindness, iron with wine, anger with forgiveness - if you so choose. But it is well within your right to fight fire with fire. Just know that someday, the sea's tides will rise, and there will be no fire or fight left anywhere in the world.
